1. Overview
Reddit Analyzer ("we", "our", or "us") is a Chrome Extension designed to analyze Reddit threads using Artificial Intelligence. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
2. Data Collection and Usage
2.1. User Content (Reddit Data)
- What we collect: When you explicitly click "Analyze", we temporarily read the content of the current Reddit thread or subreddit (posts, comments, metadata) visible in your active tab.
- How used: This text data is transmitted securely to our backend and then to third-party AI providers (OpenRouter, Google Gemini, Anthropic, etc.) solely for the purpose of generating the analysis (summary, roast, debate, etc.).
- Retention: We do not store this content on our servers. The analysis result is sent back to your browser and stored locally on your device (in Chrome's
local storage) for your "History" feature.
2.2. User Account (Clerk)
- We use Clerk for authentication.
- Clerk collects identifiers (e.g., email address) to manage your account and subscription tier (Free vs. Pro).
- Please refer to Clerk's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your data.
2.3. AI Processing
- We use third-party AI models via OpenRouter.
- Data sent to these models is subject to their respective privacy policies.
- We do not use your data to train these models.
3. Data Storage
- Local Storage: Your analysis history and custom modes are stored locally on your device within the Chrome Extension environment. You can clear this data at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing the extension's storage.
- Remote Storage: We do not maintain a database of your analyses.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following trusted services:
- Vercel: Hosts our serverless backend (authentication proxy).
- Clerk: Handles user authentication and billing.
- OpenRouter: Provides access to AI models.
